Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Location: Boone, North Carolina
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / IMCU Float Pool
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active North Carolina RN license or compact RN license required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong telemetry skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Comfort caring for occasional pediatric patients when needed
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and float to MedSurg based on patient volume
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for cardiac stepdown and IMCU patients
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in rhythm or condition
• Support management of cardiac drips in accordance with unit protocols
• Perform central line and peripheral line care and maintenance
• Assist with blood product administration and related patient monitoring
• Collaborate with rapid response and code teams when escalation is needed
• Float to MedSurg as needed based on patient volume and unit demands
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic EMR
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate patient care environment
