Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Job in Falmouth, Massachusetts

Join a dynamic Med-Surg Telemetry team in Falmouth, MA. This 13-week travel nursing assignment is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, supportive hospital setting.

Job Details

• Location: Falmouth, MA 02540
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend, rotating holidays
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Work Environment: May float between units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Successful completion of a Medical/Surgical IV Medication Module
• Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia exam
• Ability to perform independent phlebotomy and start/manage IVs
• Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for assigned Med-Surg Telemetry patients
• Use the nursing process to deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based care
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
• Administer medications safely and accurately according to hospital protocols
• Manage IV therapy, chest drainage devices, and epidural analgesia as needed
• Perform independent phlebotomy and initiate/manage IV access
• Document patient care thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Provide patient and family education throughout the care experience
• Support post-operative, orthopedic, and medically complex patients
• Recognize, escalate, and respond to urgent or emergency situations quickly and effectively
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote excellent outcomes
