Job Requirements
- Active Washington State RN license
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
- Emergency Department or acute care experience strongly preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 12 months of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required within 12 months of hire
- Moderate sedation training required within 12 months of hire and annually thereafter
- Strong critical thinking, crisis management, and communication skills
- Ability to care for patients across the age continuum in a high-acuity emergency nursing environment
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and gather data for assigned patients in the Emergency Department
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Provide patient and family education based on learning needs and discharge instructions
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record and follow regulatory standards
- Use sound clinical judgment to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Delegate and supervise care activities appropriately when serving in a charge nurse role
- Support safe, efficient patient flow including admits, transfers, discharges, and break coverage
- Maintain professional standards, safety practices, and competency in department-specific equipment and procedures
