Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardiac ICU / Critical Care RN
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Weekdays with some weekends; rotating holidays
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule block
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Patient Ratio: 1:1-2

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification preferred/required per unit needs
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience caring for high-acuity CVICU or cardiac critical care patients strongly preferred
• Strong skills in telemetry, ventilator management, IV starts, and critical care monitoring
• Ability to float to equivalent or lower-acuity units within the organization as needed
• Comfort working in a fast-paced travel nursing assignment with required credentialing timelines

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to adult CVICU patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic instability, dysrhythmias, and post-operative recovery in a critical care setting
• Care for patients requiring ventilators, Swan Ganz monitoring, IABP, Impella, ECMO, CRRT, and vasoactive drips
• Support patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, heart transplant, lung transplant, and other advanced procedures
• Perform critical care interventions including line management, sedation monitoring, blood product administration, and arterial line care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient-centered care
• Float within the organization as needed to equivalent or lower-acuity units
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and contribute to smooth unit workflow
