Job Requirements

• Current Washington State RN license
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• At least 1 year of RN experience in acute care, PACU, or specialty nursing preferred
• BLS (HCP level) certification within 30 days of hire
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
• PALS or PEARS certification within 6 months of hire
• CPAN certification preferred
• Strong critical thinking, crisis management, and patient assessment skills
• Ability to care for patients across the age continuum
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced recovery room environment

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PACU nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia
• Assess physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status throughout the recovery process
• Implement care plans and follow established policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Monitor patients closely and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record and/or paper charting systems
• Educate patients and families based on readiness for learning and care needs
• Support safe delegation, coordination, and supervision of patient care activities
• Assist with charge nurse functions as needed, including staffing coordination and patient flow
• Participate in total joint program expectations and unit-based care pathways
• Maintain professionalism, teamwork, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care
