Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Mother/Baby, postpartum, or related women’s services experience required
- BSN preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Current NRP certification required
- Experience with postpartum care, newborn assessments, discharge education, and family-centered communication
- Ability to recognize and respond to risk factors such as sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide risk, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
- Comfortable using AIDET and BSSR communication practices
- Experience in LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, or attending births preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to postpartum patients and newborns
- Assess mothers and infants for changes in condition and identify potential complications
- Deliver discharge education and support families through recovery and newborn care instructions
- Perform routine Mother/Baby nursing duties, including pain management, prioritization, and time-sensitive interventions
- Support unit workflow by collaborating with the care team and maintaining high standards of communication
- Assist with newborn care, including post-delivery recovery and circumcision-related care as needed
- Float within women’s services when appropriate and based on cross-training
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit policies, procedures, and patient safety practices
