Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
• Preferred experience and training in a hospital-based patient care setting, with unit-specific orientation and training provided as needed
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or required per unit timing and training expectations
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Ability to provide care for adult and pediatric patients across a range of acuity levels
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Comfort with shift work and changing departmental priorities

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate patient care in the PACU using the nursing process
• Monitor patients before, during, and after recovery from anesthesia
• Assess patient condition and respond promptly to changes in status
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and policies
• Provide discharge instructions and patient and family education
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and support efficient patient flow
• Adapt to varying shift needs and provide coverage later in the day as needed
