- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Unit Size: 18 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
- On-Call: None
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with 3 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 1 year of recent progressive care, telemetry, step-down, or intermediate care nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or strong familiarity with neurological monitoring
- Experience caring for cardiac and pulmonary patients preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting with continuous cardiac monitoring
- Strong teamwork, communication, time management, and patient-centered care skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions
- Monitor and manage patients with COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and tracheostomy needs
- Perform assessments and nursing interventions every 3-4 hours, or as clinically indicated
- Complete vital signs every 4 hours and maintain continuous telemetry monitoring
- Support oxygen therapy delivery, including nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and low-flow AirVo as appropriate
- Conduct blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours and complete neurological checks as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Uphold unit standards, patient experience expectations, and a strong culture of courtesy and respect
