• Schedule: Self-scheduling with 3 weekend shifts per 4 weeks

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of recent progressive care, telemetry, step-down, or intermediate care nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or strong familiarity with neurological monitoring
• Experience caring for cardiac and pulmonary patients preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting with continuous cardiac monitoring
• Strong teamwork, communication, time management, and patient-centered care skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions
• Monitor and manage patients with COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and tracheostomy needs
• Perform assessments and nursing interventions every 3-4 hours, or as clinically indicated
• Complete vital signs every 4 hours and maintain continuous telemetry monitoring
• Support oxygen therapy delivery, including nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and low-flow AirVo as appropriate
• Conduct blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours and complete neurological checks as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Uphold unit standards, patient experience expectations, and a strong culture of courtesy and respect
