Experienced Neuro ICU RN needed for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Charlotte, NC. Join a high-acuity critical care team and provide expert care for adult neuro patients in a fast-paced Neuro ICU setting. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
- Start Date: 09/08/2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week / 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Required
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Charting System: Epic
- Patient Ratio: Typically 2:1, with flexibility up to 3:1 during high census
- Average Daily Census: 11-12 patients
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact RN license; pending licensure may be considered for submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong neuro critical care and adult ICU background required
- Experience with ventilators, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, and central line care/management
- Comfortable with continuous IV sedation, stroke care, post-neurosurgery patients, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Must be able to work with EVDs, lumbar drains, ICP monitoring, and other advanced neuro equipment
- EKG testing must be completed prior to start
- Must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide expert bedside care for adult neuro critical care patients, including stroke, SAH, SDH, post-craniotomy, aneurysm, and seizure diagnoses
- Monitor and manage complex neurological conditions and supportive devices such as EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, and NICOM
- Care for ventilated patients and support patients requiring continuous IV sedation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias, perform blood product administration, and assist with central line and arterial line care
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, patient-centered critical care
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate patient status clearly using SBAR
- Adapt to a high-acuity Neuro ICU environment while maintaining strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and professionalism
