Overview

This Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse role is ideal for an experienced obstetrics nurse who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys providing compassionate, hands-on women’s health nursing care. You’ll be part of a collaborative healthcare team managing laboring patients, high-risk obstetric cases, and a variety of intrapartum and triage needs.

• Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel contract
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, with varying days based on unit needs
• Setting: Fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit
• Location: Pueblo, Colorado
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180 - $2,290

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license accepted
• Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required
• AWHONN FM course required
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Ability to work weekends and provide on-call support as needed
• Strong experience with high-risk obstetrics and labor management
• Comfort working in a high-volume, team-oriented maternal care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor and manage high-risk obstetric patients throughout the labor process
• Assist with triage, fetal monitoring, and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns
• Circulate in the OR and support cesarean deliveries as needed
• Place and manage internal fetal monitors and assist with invasive monitoring procedures
• Support labor induction, augmentation, and obstetric emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Deliver patient education and support families throughout the birth experience
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards of care
