Job Details

• Position: Telemetry RN (Tele RN)
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637
• Setting: Acute care Cardio Thoracic Telemetry unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Charting System: Epic
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotation required
• Floating: May float to other general medical units

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification recommended
• Strong EKG interpretation and telemetry strip reading skills
• Experience with medication titration and drip management
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Comfortable providing care for cardiac, pulmonary, and post-procedure patients
• Basic nursing skills and strong clinical judgment in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in telemetry, cardiac, med-surg, or similar acute care nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to telemetry and cardiac thoracic patients
• Monitor, assess, and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry data
• Titrate drips as ordered, including Cardizem and heparin
• Care for patients with MI, CHF, A-fib, COPD, pacemakers/AICDs, chest tubes, and other thoracic conditions
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, monitor techs, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Perform safe assessments, medication administration, and ongoing patient evaluations
• Support patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP and troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed
• Float to general medical units when assigned
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
