Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent critical care or ICU nursing experience required
- CVICU experience or strong cardiovascular critical care experience preferred
- Ability to provide safe, high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Comfort with night shift scheduling and 36 hours per week
- Open-heart experience is preferred, but strong critical care nurses who can be oriented to the assignment are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to cardiovascular and critically ill patients
- Monitor hemodynamics, recognize changes in patient status, and respond quickly to clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and unit protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, intensivists, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and thoroughly
- Support post-operative cardiac and intensive care patients with focused, patient-centered nursing care
- Maintain a calm, professional presence in a high-acuity CVICU environment
