Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / Med-Surg Adult Assignment in Hilo, Hawaii

• Location: Hilo, HI
• Assignment Length: 15 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Hours per Week: 36 scheduled hours following the first week of orientation
• Start Date: 10/19/2026
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Med-Surg Adult
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• 2-10 years of nursing experience preferred
• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Experience in cardiac stepdown, med-surg, or similar acute care settings
• Comfort using Meditech EMR and common unit equipment such as Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• Ability to float to medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units as needed
• Professional nursing attire and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac stepdown and med-surg patients
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and coordinate care using safe, evidence-based nursing practices
• Support patients with wound care, chest tubes, and other common acute care needs
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe outcomes
• Float between designated medical and surgical units based on patient care needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and workflow in the EMR
• Deliver compassionate care while helping patients and families feel informed and supported
