Job Details
- Location: Hilo, HI
- Assignment Length: 15 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Hours per Week: 36 scheduled hours following the first week of orientation
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Med-Surg Adult
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
- Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- 2-10 years of nursing experience preferred
- Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Experience in cardiac stepdown, med-surg, or similar acute care settings
- Comfort using Meditech EMR and common unit equipment such as Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Ability to float to medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units as needed
- Professional nursing attire and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac stepdown and med-surg patients
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications and coordinate care using safe, evidence-based nursing practices
- Support patients with wound care, chest tubes, and other common acute care needs
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe outcomes
- Float between designated medical and surgical units based on patient care needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and workflow in the EMR
- Deliver compassionate care while helping patients and families feel informed and supported
