- Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Setting: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit / Step-Down Unit

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; no guarantee of hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Location: Hilo, HI 96720
- On-Site: Yes
- Call: No call required
- Floating: May float to other acute care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
- Dress Code: Scrubs
Job Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start date
- At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive care unit (PCU) and telemetry experience preferred
- ACLS preferred
- PALS preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting and adapt to floating assignments
- Experience with Meditech charting and Pyxis medication systems preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care for progressive care and step-down patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips accurately
- Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks and other routine nursing assessments
- Use continuous cardiac monitoring and support patients requiring BIPAP
- Document care in Meditech and safely manage medications using Pyxis
- Collaborate with the care team to promote patient stability, recovery, and safe transitions of care
- Float to other acute care areas as assigned based on unit needs
- Maintain a professional, patient-focused approach throughout the assignment
