ICU Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU Travel Assignment in Baltimore, Maryland

Travel RN opportunity in Baltimore, MD: join a high-acuity Neuro ICU team and provide advanced neurocritical care for complex adult and geriatric patients. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers a fast-paced clinical environment, strong interdisciplinary support, and the chance to work in one of Maryland’s most vibrant healthcare markets.

  • Setting: Neuro ICU / Neurotrauma ICU
  • Location: Baltimore, MD 21201
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,850 - $1,950
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled
  • Floating: May be required within specialty or lower-acuity areas as needed
  • On-Call: May be required

Job Requirements

  • Active Maryland RN license or compact license at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU or Neuro ICU experience preferred; strong first-time travelers with solid Neuro ICU experience may be considered
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • NIHSS and CPI preferred
  • Experience with adult and geriatric critical care patients strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced neurocritical care environment
  • Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccine not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute neurological and neurotrauma conditions in a Neuro ICU setting
  • Monitor and manage complex diagnoses such as stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, seizures, brain tumors, and cerebral edema
  • Care for patients requiring advanced ICU technology, including ventilators, ICP monitoring, EVDs, cEEG, and infusion devices
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality critical care
  • Assess, document, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Support a patient ratio of approximately 1:2, with up to 1:3 for stable, lower-acuity patients
  • Adapt to unit needs while maintaining excellent clinical judgment, professionalism, and patient-centered care
