Job Details
- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel Nurse)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Durham, NC 27710
- Start Date: 09/08/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
- Schedule: Open availability required; every other weekend required
- Floating: May float between High Risk and Labor & Delivery
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and comfort in a high-acuity obstetric setting
- Ability to provide a recent supervisory reference
- Must be able to meet onboarding and compliance deadlines
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
- Monitor and manage patients receiving magnesium, insulin, and PCA therapies
- Assist with inductions, spontaneous labor, epidural management, and post-birth recovery
- Support operative obstetric care including cesarean sections, D&C, D&E, cerclage, and OR recovery
- Care for high-risk neonates and support newborn stabilization during the recovery period
- Manage hemorrhage interventions and assist with emergency obstetric response as needed
- Perform fetal monitoring, triage, patient education, and discharge teaching
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, coordinated patient care
