- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
- Employment Type: Travel assignment
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
- Start Date: 09/21/2026
- Duration: 26 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to Med/Surg and additional overflow units as needed
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Setting: High-turnover observation and medical-surgical care
Job Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- BLS required
- ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred/required as applicable
- Epic experience preferred
- Strong prioritization, communication, and patient service skills
- Ability to work effectively with RNs, LPNs, techs, and interdisciplinary team members
- Comfortable caring for patients with varying acuity and frequent admissions/discharges
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and observation patients
- Complete frequent reassessments and support rapid admissions and discharges
- Manage patients with common Med/Surg diagnoses such as CHF, diabetes, TIA, and abdominal pain
- Monitor patient status, respond to changes promptly, and escalate concerns as needed
- Collaborate with the care team to support efficient patient throughput and positive outcomes
- Float to other Med/Surg areas based on unit needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility standards and protocols
- Deliver professional, compassionate care in a fast-paced healthcare environment
