- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: May float to other acute care units within the hospital
- Call: May be required if needed due to low census
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Previous travel nurse experience required; seasoned traveler preferred
- Active compact or state Texas RN license in hand at submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:6
- Strong clinical skills in telemetry and Med/Surg nursing
- Ability to float to additional acute care units as needed
- Comfortable working a schedule that includes weekends and holiday coverage as assigned
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and therapies according to established standards of care
- Perform line care, wound care, IV management, and other common acute care nursing tasks
- Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, and related respiratory interventions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Maintain professional flexibility to float to other acute care areas within the hospital
- Promote a safe, efficient, and patient-centered care environment
