• Duration: 16 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, every other weekend
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
• Charting System: MEDITECH
• Orientation: 2 shifts
• Unit Size: 8 beds

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to titrate drips and manage critical care medications
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• MEDITECH experience is a plus
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and comfort running codes preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled critical care nursing for ICU patients with diagnoses including sepsis, stroke, DKA, pneumonia, ETOH withdrawal, and post-cath recovery
• Monitor and manage patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3, with some lower-acuity assignments
• Titrate and administer critical care infusions as needed, including vasoactive and sedation medications
• Participate in code response and support unit-wide emergency care
• Float as needed to MedSurg, Tele, and ER with a full patient load
• Collaborate with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care
• Interpret telemetry strips and maintain accurate clinical documentation in MEDITECH
