Job Details

• Setting: Outpatient Surgery / Same Day Surgery
• Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84124
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, typically 5 shifts per week
• Shift Time: Approximately 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Call / Weekends: No on-call requirement; weekend coverage not required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided
• Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• At least 1 year of recent nursing experience in a surgical, SDS, pre-op, or post-op setting
• Experience starting IVs and obtaining vital signs
• Comfortable collecting brief health histories, reviewing medications, and supporting consent and pre-surgical preparation
• Ability to provide discharge instructions and post-surgical care education
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and a patient-centered approach

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for a variety of surgical procedures in a same day surgery environment
• Start IVs, obtain vital signs, and gather pre-operative information
• Support patients and families with education throughout the surgical experience
• Assist with pre-op and post-op workflow to help ensure safe, efficient care
• Provide discharge instructions and reinforce post-procedure recovery guidance
• Work closely with the surgical team to maintain quality patient flow and excellent care standards
• Deliver care across a broad range of surgical cases in a busy, well-organized unit
