Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York, or proof of application with applied date at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry or cardiac stepdown nursing experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Epic experience within the last 2 years required
• Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath care
• Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and at least 2 of the 3 major holidays when needed
• Reliable transportation required due to limited public transit access in the area

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care for adults in a cardiac stepdown and progressive care setting
• Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA/stent, and other cardiac or vascular diagnoses
• Manage and titrate ordered drips and support patients requiring close observation in a progressive care unit
• Start IVs, complete ongoing assessments, and deliver safe medication administration
• Support post-cardiac cath patients and patients with hemodynamic instability or respiratory compromise
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Float to appropriate units as needed and adapt to changing unit needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow unit protocols and standards
