Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
- Assignment Length: 16 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room (ER)
- Patient Population: Newborn through geriatric patients
- Location: Middlebury, VT — a charming Vermont community with scenic surroundings and a relaxed, supportive atmosphere
- Weekend/Holiday Expectations: Every other weekend required; flexibility needed for holidays
- Floating: No floating required
- Documentation System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment required
- Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, NRP, and NIHSS
- Charge nurse experience highly preferred
- Experience in a critical access, rural, or community ED setting is preferred
- Comfortable with transport support when needed
- Reliable transportation required due to limited public transit in the area
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Perform ESI triage, IV insertion, and medication and drip management
- Monitor and interpret EKGs and support procedural sedation workflows
- Assist with restraint application, patient transports, and ambulance transfers as needed
- Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ED support staff
- Support safe, efficient care in a 10–14 bed emergency department
- Maintain strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a high-acuity clinical environment
- Help orient or precept new team members when appropriate
