You’ll work 12-hour night shifts in a supportive environment that values teamwork, critical thinking, and clear communication.

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Location: Rutherfordton, North Carolina
• Schedule: 12-hour nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 07/31/2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Setting: Acute care Medical/Surgical unit
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
• EHR: Meditech

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to practice in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Current BLS certification required prior to start
• Experience with IV insertion and NG insertion
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg areas within scope
• Strong critical thinking skills and open communication style
• Comfort working with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care to Medical/Surgical patients
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Perform IV and NG insertion as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support effective treatment plans
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record
• Float to other Med/Surg areas within scope when assigned
• Maintain a professional, adaptable approach in a fast-paced acute care environment
