Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Call: One on-call day per 6-week schedule
- Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Patient Census: Approximately 35 daily
- Unit Size: 38 beds
- Location: Brownwood, TX 76801
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg Tele, medical-surgical, or related acute care setting
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with charting systems required; Altera experience preferred
- Ability to care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and common acute care patient needs
- Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, attentive nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients on a night shift schedule
- Monitor telemetry data and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm and patient status
- Support patients with a variety of medical-surgical and telemetry-related conditions
- Administer medications and treatments according to established nursing standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and other support teams
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the charting system
- Participate in unit workflow, weekend rotation, and scheduled on-call coverage
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment focused on quality care, teamwork, and clinical excellence
