• Location: Kansas City, Missouri (travel assignment in a 29-bed cardiac telemetry unit)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Recent cardiac telemetry, progressive care unit (PCU), or intensive care unit (ICU) experience
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural care, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op open heart care, and permanent pacemaker placement
• Comfort administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent patient experience

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to telemetry patients with varying cardiac needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient status, and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Interpret telemetry and EKG findings to support timely clinical decisions
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures and surgeries
• Administer IV medications and titrate therapies according to unit protocols
• Perform and assist with procedures such as IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker care, and Foley insertions
• Maintain accurate documentation using the Meditech charting system
• Promote a positive patient experience by delivering courteous, respectful, and responsive care
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, unit secretary, and patient care technicians to support smooth daily operations
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment that values compassion, reliability, and clinical excellence
