• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit / Cardiac Care Unit
• Location: Morgantown, WV 26505
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, including weekdays and weekends
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Charting System: Cerner
• Float Requirement: May occasionally float to the Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; prior CVICU, cardiac ICU, or critical care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Current WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with activated clotting time (ACT) procedures required
• Strong background in direct open-heart admissions from the OR
• Experience with pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• Comfort working with high-acuity cardiac surgery and cardiology patients
• Ability to provide 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Permanent address should generally be 100 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patients in a CVICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients admitted directly from the operating room after open-heart surgery
• Support patients with CABG, valve replacement, thoracotomy, carotid endarterectomy, STEMI, and cardiogenic shock diagnoses
• Manage hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drips, and advanced cardiac devices
• Care for patients requiring Impella, IABP, CRRT, and other critical support therapies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Respond effectively to changing patient acuity and occasional overflow step-down needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and follow unit protocols
