• Position: Travel Med/Surg Tele RN
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Setting: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit
• Location: Petersburg, VA 23805
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend and major holidays required
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Start Date: 08/31/2026

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong telemetry and med/surg nursing skills
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond to changes in condition with sound clinical judgment
• Administer medications safely and accurately according to policy and scope of practice
• Coordinate care with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families
• Care for patients who may require BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, or tube feeds
• Support pre- and post-hemodialysis care and CAPD patients as needed
• Perform phlebotomy and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Promote patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes throughout the shift
• Float to other med/surg telemetry units as needed based on patient care needs
