Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment in Birmingham, AL

Overview: Join a supportive acute care team in Birmingham, Alabama, as a Med/Surg Registered Nurse travel RN. This travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an RN who enjoys fast-paced patient care, strong teamwork, and making a meaningful impact on a busy inpatient medical-surgical unit.

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification required
  • Cerner experience required
  • Ability to work night shifts and alternating weekends
  • Must meet travel nurse eligibility requirements, including being 50+ miles from the facility
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and time-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients
  • Complete patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Respond appropriately to clinical concerns and support positive patient outcomes
  • Contribute to a professional, team-oriented inpatient care environment
