Travel Nurse Job Details
- Specialty: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN), Adult Psychiatric Nursing
- Setting: Inpatient behavioral health unit
- Location: Yakima, WA

- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Weekend Rotation: 2 weekends per month
- Floating: May float to Med Surg units or assist as a sitter
- EMR: Epic preferred
Psych RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington or a compact state
- Minimum 1 year of psych nursing experience required
- Med-surg or acute care experience preferred
- Experience with psychiatric assessments, de-escalation, and physical restraints
- Current BLS certification
- CPI or MOAB certification required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient safety skills

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to adults with behavioral health needs
- Complete psychiatric assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
- Support patients experiencing schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, suicidal ideation, dementia with behaviors, and other acute psychiatric conditions
- Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment
- Assist with crisis intervention and manage behavioral emergencies appropriately
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
- Float as needed to support unit operations and patient safety
