- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Unit Setting: Intermediate care / coronary care stepdown
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke certification required
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Previous cardio/vascular nursing experience preferred
- Experience in acute care, telemetry, progressive care, or stepdown nursing strongly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital setting
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in a PCU/stepdown and telemetry environment
- Complete thorough assessments and develop individualized plans of care for complex patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, telemetry strips, and changes in patient condition
- Manage cardiac and respiratory patients, including those requiring advanced oxygen support
- Administer and titrate selected drips per unit protocol and physician orders
- Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, drains, wound vacs, and other complex devices
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families while promoting comfort, safety, and positive clinical outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional nursing standards
- Support quality care for patients recovering from cardiac, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and post-operative conditions
