PACU RN Travel Nursing Job in Fredericksburg, Texas

Join a busy Post-Anesthesia Care Unit as a PACU RN in Fredericksburg, TX, and put your perioperative nursing skills to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for a diverse surgical population, support safe patient recovery, and contribute to a collaborative PreOp / PACU team in the heart of Texas Hill Country.

• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750-$1,840
• Schedule Notes: 1 weekend call per month and 1 weekday call shift per month
• Location: Fredericksburg, TX 78624
• Setting: PreOp / PACU

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of PACU nursing or related perioperative nursing experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• Experience with PreOp, Phase I recovery, and Phase II recovery preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Regional block assistance experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible, positive, team-focused mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical and procedural patients
• Monitor patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery according to established PACU standards
• Support PreOp workflows and assist with patient preparation for procedures
• Care for a variety of cases including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, vascular, GI, PCI, IR, and blood transfusions
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and follow unit protocols
• Adapt to changing patient needs while delivering efficient, compassionate care
• Float within the unit as needed
