Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 3 years of overall Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
- At least 2 years of dedicated cardiac and vascular nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility
- Scrub experience required, including cardiac and vascular cases
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS preferred/required per unit guidelines
- Epic experience required
- Strong experience with cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and transplant procedures
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Ability to meet compliance requirements and credentialing timelines
Responsibilities
- Provide circulating and scrub support in a busy CVOR environment
- Assist with complex cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant surgeries
- Support procedures such as CABG, valve cases, AAA repair, TEVAR, EVAR, LVAD/RVAD, and other advanced cardiovascular operations
- Maintain sterile technique, surgical safety, and adherence to universal protocol standards
- Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for high-acuity surgical cases
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and operating room teammates to ensure safe, efficient workflow
- Document accurately in Epic and follow established charting standards
- Respond effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand surgical setting
- Support excellent patient outcomes through strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork
