Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or the ability to obtain one before the start date
• At least 1 year of PACU nursing, perioperative nursing, or acute care nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognize post-anesthesia changes quickly
• Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical recovery unit and healthcare environment
• Ability to participate in primary and backup call rotation, including weekends as scheduled
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-operative recovery
• Support safe patient flow through the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and collaborate with the perioperative team
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Follow PACU standards, nursing protocols, and patient safety best practices
• Maintain a calm, reassuring presence for patients and families during recovery
• Participate in scheduled call coverage as assigned
