High-acuity ICU travel nursing job in Frankfort, KY: join a supportive critical care team for a 13-week assignment in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit. Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Nursing
- Location: Frankfort, KY 40601
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650
- Start Date: 07/27/2026
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Active Kentucky RN license or compact RN license in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIH certification, renewed annually
- Experience with CPAP and BiPAP management preferred
- Preferred experience with port access, therapeutic phlebotomy, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusions, and ventilators
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity critical care environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Manage BiPAP/CPAP support and assist with ventilator-related care
- Support therapeutic phlebotomy, blood transfusions, and port access procedures
- Assist with advanced patient care needs including central lines, drains, wound vacs, and NG tubes
- Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical coordinators, techs, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech Expanse
- Float as needed to comparable units based on patient care needs
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on excellent communication, collaboration, and patient recognition
