ICU Registered Nurse travel assignment in Glen Burnie, MD—care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced, collaborative critical care unit. - Shift: 12-hour nights (8:00 PM - 8:30 AM)
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 8 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850 - $1,950
- Start Date: 09/28/2026 or as soon as possible
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Floating: Required within specialty and lower-acuity areas as needed
- Patient Ratio: 1:2, with up to 3 at lower acuity
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
- Schedule Highlights: First-time travelers accepted
Job Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or demonstrated proficiency
- CPI certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU nursing experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Strong critical care nursing skills with the ability to manage complex patient needs
- Comfortable working night shifts, floating as needed, and adapting to a high-acuity environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality critical care nursing for ICU patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, pneumonia, MSOF, CVA, cardiac/pulmonary, renal, neuro, and surgical conditions
- Monitor and manage ventilated and critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Assist with and support advanced ICU procedures, including tracheostomy care, bronchoscopy support, central line management, arterial lines, and chest tube care
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in Epic EMR
- Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, and other support services
- Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention, patient safety, and timely communication in a fast-moving critical care environment
