- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week; 48-hour options may be accepted
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5-6
- Charting System: Epic
- Scheduling: Based on unit needs
- Floating: Required
- Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekends per contract
- Scrubs: Navy/White
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong telemetry skills, including cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Solid med/surg nursing experience, IV management, and heparin protocol knowledge
- Ability to care for common adult and geriatric medical-surgical diagnoses
- Epic experience preferred for healthcare documentation and charting
- Must be comfortable floating within or near the facility as needed
- Open to first-time travelers
- NC RN license or compact license pending is acceptable for submission
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Flu vaccine required; medical or religious exemptions only
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric med/surg telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support heparin drip protocols
- Perform focused patient assessments, coordinate care, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Support patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, anemia, GI bleed, and COVID-related conditions
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation in Epic and follow SBAR communication standards
- Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and other clinical support teams
- Adapt to unit needs, including floating and weekend coverage as scheduled
- Participate in orientation, required modules, and compliance steps prior to start
