Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse / Critical Care RN
- Location: Abilene, Texas
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour day shifts (07:00-19:00)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820-$1,910
- Patient Ratio: 3:1
- Call: Once every 6 weeks
- Weekend Commitment: 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
- Start Date: 9/21/2026
- Setting: Adult ICU/IMCU with low-acuity ICU patients and high-acuity telemetry patients
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of ICU nursing experience required; 2 years of service line experience required for submission
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand prior to submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Prior experience with an electronic charting system required; Altera experience preferred
- Strong critical care knowledge with confidence managing telemetry and ICU-level patients
- Ability to complete pre-start compliance items, including labs and documentation, within stated timelines
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled bedside care for adult and geriatric patients with varying acuity levels in an ICU/IMCU environment
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and neurological status with excellent attention to detail
- Manage and titrate critical care therapies such as Levophed, Cardene, Neosynephrine, and insulin drips
- Support patients receiving high-flow oxygen, non-invasive airway support, and post-thrombolytic care
- Care for patients with invasive lines, drains, temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and post-cardiac interventions
- Collaborate with charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, responsive patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
