Travel RN opportunity in Bismarck, ND for an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse seeking a rewarding acute care assignment. Join a supportive women’s health team and provide compassionate care in labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and GYN care while enjoying a welcoming North Dakota community.
Job Details
- Location: Bismarck, ND 58501
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, rotating weekends and holidays
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,400 - $2,530
- Charting Systems: EPIC and OBIX
- Orientation: 36 hours for travelers
- Floating: May assist in newborn nursery and NICU
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:2 in Labor & Delivery; 1:3 for mother-baby couplets; 1:5-6 for combined care
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs or facility-provided scrubs in L&D
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including postpartum and GYN care
- Experience with fetal monitoring and care of laboring patients
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- STABLE certification preferred
- Ability to work nights, some days, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to float to newborn nursery and NICU when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care for laboring patients, including high-risk obstetric cases
- Support delivery, postpartum recovery, mother-baby care, and GYN surgical postop care
- Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Use EPIC and OBIX documentation systems accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with physicians, OB staff, and the care team to promote safe patient outcomes
- Assist with newborn care and provide support in related women’s health units as needed
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced acute care environment
