Job Details

- Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina 28801
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,230 - $1,300
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; flexibility needed to support departmental scheduling needs
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Environment: High-volume ED with approximately 101 beds and a fast-paced, collaborative team
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical setting
- Strong teamwork mindset and the ability to give and receive real-time feedback
- Comfort working across all areas of the Emergency Department
- Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to emergency patients across a wide range of acuity levels
- Assess, monitor, and respond to patient needs in a fast-paced ER and ED environment
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, clerks, and the broader healthcare team to support efficient patient flow
- Deliver excellent patient experiences using respectful communication and AIDET principles
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record using Cerner
- Support a culture of teamwork, adaptability, and high-quality emergency nursing care
- Remain flexible to float within different sections of the Emergency Department as needed
