Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or a compact state license
- Prior experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care, or high-acuity settings preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- TNCC and ENPC preferred or obtained within the expected timeframe after hire
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and rapid decision-making skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and focused assessments for emergent, urgent, and non-urgent patients
- Use evidence-based triage principles to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to policy and provider orders
- Monitor and operate emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, EMS, and the broader ED care team
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, re-evaluations, disposition planning, and patient education
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
- Participate in trauma, rapid response, code blue, stroke, and STEMI protocols as needed
- Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, infection prevention, and compassionate, patient-centered care
