- Position: Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Wilmington, NC
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 4x12-hour nights, 18:45 - 07:15
- Hours Per Week: 36 hours, with 48-hour options accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work holidays
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Setting: Adult and geriatric Med/Surg unit
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating: Required to similar units and alternate inpatient holding areas as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
- First-time travelers may be considered
- BLS certification required
- Epic experience required
- EKG testing must be passed prior to start
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:7
- Must be comfortable working holidays, weekends, and a flexible schedule
- Team-oriented approach with strong communication and professionalism
- Open to float within and near the facility as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical Surgical patients
- Monitor and manage common medical-surgical conditions, treatments, and patient progress
- Perform and support care such as heparin drip management, wound vac dressing changes, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Assist with limited short-term BiPAP support when needed
- Administer medications, maintain IV access, and support telemetry and dysrhythmia monitoring
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe patient outcomes
- Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
- Adapt to changing unit needs, including floating assignments and schedule flexibility
- Participate in unit meetings and contribute to a positive team culture
- Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach in every interaction
