Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
- Start Date: 9/21/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours accepted
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Target Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
- Schedule: Based on unit needs
- Weekend Requirement: Required
- Floating: Required
- Scrubs: Navy/White
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
- BLS certification required
- Experience with telemetry remote monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Comfortable working with IV insulin protocols and heparin management
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Must be open to floating within and near the facility as needed
- Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to start
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and manage therapies such as IV insulin and heparin protocols
- Support patients with common medical/surgical diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, anemia, and GI bleed
- Perform and manage nursing interventions including IV starts, line care, wound care, oxygen support, and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Document care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
- Adapt to unit needs, maintain flexibility, and deliver safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital nursing environment
