Job Details
- Setting: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Location: Knoxville, TN 37916
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980-$2,080
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:7-8
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or two weekends per month
- Float Requirement: May float within the hospital and to other nearby facilities within skill set as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state eligibility at time of submittal
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or cardiac telemetry experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS required
- NIHSS required or obtainable after offer
- ACLS preferred
- Ability to pass EKG testing before the start date
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring preferred
- Experience supporting renal failure, CKD, AKI, and hemodialysis-related care preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
- Provide care for patients with renal failure, CKD, AKI, ureteral/kidney stones, encephalopathy, and hemodialysis needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care, discharge planning, and throughput
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Adapt to floating assignments within scope and maintain a strong team-oriented approach
- Follow unit protocols, scheduling expectations, and compliance requirements for travel nurse assignments
