Job Details

• Location: Knoxville, TN 37916 — East Tennessee healthcare opportunity in a vibrant city with easy access to outdoor recreation
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour nights (8:30 PM – 7:00 AM), Monday through Thursday
• Shifts per Week: 4
• Call: 1–2 shifts per 6-week pay period, plus 1 late shift per week
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Charting System: Cerner preferred

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to pass EKG testing before the start date
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS may be obtained after acceptance)
• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience with at least 3 of the following surgical specialties preferred: hearts, robotics, neuro, general surgery, ENT, vascular/endovascular, plastics, GYN, urology, orthopedics
• Comfort working with adolescent and adult patient populations
• Ability to maintain current licensure and certifications through the start date

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced operating room environment
• Support a wide range of surgical cases, including general surgery, thoracic, vascular, and specialty procedures
• Assist with scrub and circulating nurse duties as assigned
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain patient safety, accurate clinical documentation, and efficient workflow throughout the surgical process
• Adapt to changing case demands and contribute to smooth OR turnover
• Follow unit policies, infection prevention standards, and perioperative best practices
