- Setting: Labor rooms, triage rooms, antepartum, and low-risk labor & delivery care
- Patient Population: Adolescents, infants, and adults
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
- Epic experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Experience with labor, preterm labor, triage, and high-risk obstetrical care
- Ability to float to postpartum and, when needed, nearby sister units based on skill set
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to patients in labor, triage, antepartum, and postpartum settings
- Support and attend routine and high-risk deliveries
- Circulate for C-sections and assist with pre-op, post-op, scrub, and OB-GYN related care as needed
- Administer and monitor blood products, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and other specialized therapies
- Manage common obstetrical medications and infusions, including insulin, heparin, and magnesium sulfate
- Perform fetal monitoring, patient education, pain assessment, and ongoing clinical evaluation
- Collaborate with the care team to support safe labor progression and positive birth outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established clinical protocols
