- Position: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Orientation: Occurs every other Monday
- Schedule Notes: 36- or 48-hour contracts may be available; holiday coverage may be required
Job Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Experience with charge nurse responsibilities preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- Ability to explain any gaps in work history over 90 days
- Submission packet must include work history, skills checklist, and license verification
- Must be willing to work at least one major holiday
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for intermediate care and cardiac stepdown patients
- Care for a mixed patient population including med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
- Monitor patient status, interpret changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the care team to support high-quality outcomes and unit flow
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed, with training and pay differential provided
- Support a team-oriented environment and contribute positively to unit culture
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow clinical protocols and patient safety standards
