Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Setting: Acute care stepdown / med-surg unit
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Schedule: Nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per schedule
• Floating: May be pulled to any floor or stepdown unit as needed
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: Available immediately based on assignment timeline
• Charting System: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,180 - $2,290

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to safely care for stepdown and med-surg patients
• Competency in telemetry monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation
• Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care environment with changing patient acuity
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Must be able to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to stepdown and floor patients with medical and cardiac needs
• Monitor telemetry and interpret strips in partnership with monitor techs
• Administer medications and manage titratable therapies according to unit protocols
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the shift
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, and abdominal pain
• Support safe patient flow and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Coordinate care with physicians, support staff, and other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
• Adapt quickly to unit needs while delivering excellent bedside care
