Job Details
- Position: PACU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Setting: Acute care, PACU only
- Location: Fargo, ND
- Start Date: 09/28/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,320
- Schedule: Variable days with 8- and 12-hour shifts; majority of hours are 0700-2300
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating
- Hours Per Week: 36-40 hours
- Call: Rotating call, including occasional nights and weekends
- Orientation: Basic hospital/unit orientation with buddy RN support
- Charting System: EPIC
- Unit Highlights: Never alone, Phase I PACU care, floating between campuses as needed
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in North Dakota
- Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience required
- Acute care or hospital experience required; outpatient surgery center experience is not a match
- Experience caring for high-acuity patients
- Ability to care for pediatric patients, including an average of 5-15 children per day
- Large hospital experience preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through AHA required
- Critical care experience preferred
- Comfort working with a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced acute care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical patients across multiple specialties
- Care for adult and pediatric patients following procedures from ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and IR
- Monitor patients using unit equipment such as Phillips monitors and medication dispensing systems
- Administer medications and support recovery using safe, evidence-based PACU nursing practices
- Assess, stabilize, and educate patients throughout the post-operative recovery process
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure smooth transitions from procedural areas to recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
- Support safe patient care in a setting with ASPAN-standard ratios of 1:1 or 2:1
- Participate in rotating call coverage and occasional weekend/night shifts as scheduled
