Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Comfortable providing care for patients with wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
• Ability to support patients who may require dialysis or PCA pumps
• Experience with heparin drips preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a collaborative hospital unit environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients in an acute care setting
• Perform basic patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
• Provide general care and maintenance for wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, and chest tubes
• Support post-operative patients, including amputations, oral surgeries, wound vacs, and related recovery needs
• Maintain safety checks and complete bedside shift report
• Follow infection prevention, fall prevention, and medication scanning standards
• Float as needed to support core staff and unit needs
• Document care accurately using electronic health record systems
