Job Details

• Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Job
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule Notes: Every third weekend, holiday coverage as needed
• Setting: Progressive Cardiac Care / Stepdown Unit
• Location: Springfield, Ohio

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of assignment or compact license eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire; preferred at start
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• EKG exam required
• Strong acute care, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care for adult and geriatric patients
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity Progressive Care Unit environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process
• Perform ongoing assessments, monitor changes in condition, and respond appropriately
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to support patient outcomes
• Manage stepdown patients requiring telemetry and hemodynamic monitoring
• Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, PICC lines, HD lines, and other drains/devices
• Support patients requiring a wide range of oxygen modalities, excluding vents
• Provide focused care for post-ICU, COVID-positive, hypertensive emergency, and agitation/withdrawal cases
• Promote patient safety, education, and advocacy throughout the care experience
• Maintain professionalism, adaptability, and calm decision-making in changing clinical situations
